CEO, Naval Architect
Daria is a qualified naval architect and chartered engineer with more than 10 years of experience covering ship design, marine consultancy, R&D, and project management.
In the past, she represented the UK MCA at IMO. Since 2005 she acts as an independent expert for European Commission. Her PhD followed by an industrial-led research project in the area of ship design have earned her the prestigious RINA-LR Ship Safety Award.
Daria’s core activity is design; in addition she provides such services as casualty investigation and expert witness. In parallel with engineering career, Daria studied yacht design at the Royal College of Art and, at Navalmartin, she is in charge of all creative projects.
Daria’s hobbies are submarines and racing classic yachts. She is helming S/Y St Christopher this season.
CTO, Val Martin
Val started his career in naval architecture as a designer of high speed trimarans and large yachts. In Navalmartin he regularly acts as expert witness on design-related claims.
Working for a major classification society – as part of ship emergency response team – Val advised on over 35 large scale marine casualties and was responsible for cross-assessment of salvage operations.
Advisor for the EU, and the UK in the area of offshore renewable energy. Val was responsible for project management on behalf of underwriters, and supervision of the risk associated with the construction of a large offshore wind farm off Belgium.
In Navalmartin , Val acts also as on-site salvage engineer, developing refloating plans, supervising salvage operations and providing live advice to masters on ship stability, strength and pollution.
Senior Designer
Industrial designer with experience in product and yacht projects. Patrycja is responsible for interior and exterior architecture in Navalmartin designs. She has been cooperating with Navalmartin for over five years, creating stunning concepts.
Patrycja studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk where she received her degree in Industial Design, specialised in the field of Marine Design. Currently, she develops her Phd theme on relations between indentity and marine architecture.
